Well today was the day, I finished up the couch to 5k program. My last run was 3.6 miles in 32 minutes. Felt like a good run. I then got in my 32 burpees, might have to shift them to their own workout. They are taking a toll as a warm up or after a run. Still hitting them undroken.
Time to find a race to do. There is a race in October but it is a half, for a good cause. A mom who lost her son, he commited suicide when he came back from war. She is working to keep other soldiers from the same fate, very worthy cause. The local running store has a training prgrom set up 50.00 for 15 weeks of training. 50.00 for the race, I figure I could sign up and be happy even if I don't get to run the race. 13.1 sounds like a very big number right now, but in October who knows. I think the training would be worth the money easily.

Well, I finally did it, I broke down and went to a real running store for shoes.
Really glad I did, very friendly full of info that I really needed to know. So I ended up with a pair of light weight trail runners, 9 oz each.
Well, then I needed to take them for a run. With the way the treadmill was acting up I decided to try my normal 5k run outside. When I walked it the other day it killed my sinuses, scotch broom was in full bloom. Pretty but killed any chance of breathing through my nose.
So from our driveway to the turn around and back is 3.6 miles. I took the first 1/2 mile for my warm up. From there it is a up hill start on the road till I hit the state land, which changes to a logging road. There is a hill in the middle of the run, well it is up to the middle then down the other side.
I started @ 6 pm. With warm up, the 5k and 28 burpees when I got back home, 47 minutes total. It felt very good, I am ready for a real run. I will pick one soon, as to keep the momentum going.
Hope you had a great day.

BRUTAL!!!
All I can say about the whole weekend. I do have to say Those Crossfit women are tough as frickin nails. They never stopped, shredded hands, weights I could not pull and a shit load of work. Very stout work.

Saturday in our area after each round looked like a bad day in a hospital room, blood and gloves all over the place. There were pools of blood and chunks of flesh on the equipment, nasty stuff. Hard core stuff.

With me, well the weekend pretty much hosed me with my food. Not enough and not at the right time. No where near enough water, so up one pound this week for the 5%.
back on track today, well after I rest for today. All I have planned is burpees day 13 so 26 today. Not sure if they are getting tough yet as I have been doing them after I got home at night. So tired, I would robot through them so I could eat after.

Think I am gonna go nap. Have a great day.

Yesterday was a funky day.
I got in my burpees in not too bad. I started my week 9 day 2 run, 15 min in everytime my foot hit the belt it stopped a bit. I thought it might be my crappy shoes, so changed up to my VFF's. Still the exact same problem, so I called it because it was getting to my back. I then got in the WOD.
2-2-2-2-2-2-2-2-2-2 push jerk
95-115-120-125-130-135-140-145-150-155F

Today Thursday, I was helping out setting up the gear for the games. OH man, lot like work. Lots of lifting and moving steel plates, bolting more stuff on them then moving them again. Making plywood platforms, it was alot like work. I feel plenty whooped from it. Gonna count it as a RT.
Still have to hit my burpees, as soon as dinner settles.

Not much going on today. Hosted for the day, boy I wish I could type faster takes me forever :) It is all good I get to learn more about everyone. Looks like the 5% is really going well for the first week. lots of weight loss.

Legs are a bit fried, have gotten in lots of leg work these last few days. I got in burpee day 7 - 14. Nothing more for the day.

I am hoping to get in more than 4 hours sleep tonight, not getting no where near enough sleep. This weekend I think will be tough. 4 days of Crossfit should be fun.

Today was a full day of workouts,
First off I did my 12 burpees. Then I got in week 9 day 1, my run the other day was a really good day as today it took me 5 minutes longer. Could of been the workout last night that did me in. Then to finish the day I got in a RT, good warm up then worked on snatch balance, never tried them before. Nothing impressive going on there, up to 70 lbs. With a 5x5 on the bench, 135x5 145x5 155x5 160x5 135x14 max reps.

Hosting tomorrow, always fun. I am getting all pumped up for the NW regional games this weekend. Should be a very energizing time, last year was.

It really did top off a great day. 3:15 am alarm went off, sort of rolled out of bed.
Put together snacks and breakfast. On the road by 3:55, two hours and a bit and I am standing on the beach. Off shore winds, sun shining and surf. It was low tide so the waves were ripping along, very fast for someone who has not had much time in the boat lately. I got some good rides well more like running for my life :) I got in two sessions then packed the boat and gear up.
Then I went for a run along the path through the sand dunes, it is concrete not the best thing for my joints as all I took with me were my VFF. I measured the run last night with google earth, It said it was close to being 5k, perfect. Legs and joints were very stiff. I did not warm up any, that did not help. I got going slowly, loosened up by the turn around, the trip back felt very good. I did not time it but it felt short, I know there is no way I was moving faster than normal.
When I got home I timed the songs I listened to on it, 21:17. So the run was more like 2 miles maybe a bit more. I am stoked that I got in a outside run, at the beach in the sun in Washington state, a very rare thing.

Yes, I did my burpees on the beach in my dry suite. Warm ups must be rubbing off on me because I spent 10+ min on the beach stretching. Like I said a really great day!!!

For some reason I have not ran my normal run, started on the treadmill and said I was going to finish the C25K on it. Well today was a rest day for me. I did my 6 burpees then took a walk on the trail. Now while I am running most times my nose runs like a baby with a cold, snot and stuff, making it hard to breath. On the walk today it was the same thing, the scotch broom is in full bloom along the entire trail. My nose shut down, which mad me breath through my mouth like I was running. I guess it is going to be a fact of life from now on I will have terrible allergy's. Don't think my sinuses liked what happend last year.

Tomorrow is a trip to the beach. Should be a blast. I am going to try and get in my run there before I have to get home.

I am getting this down before I forget.
Got in my run today, week 8 day 2 of the couch to 5k. I got in some good stretching in, man my hips are sooooo tight. Started good, my splits were 11:15-21:20-30:06 for the finish. I feel pretty good with that time. I have done all of the c25k on the treadmill. Time to reward myself with new shoes.
Then I got in my burpees for the day, 4 for day two. I am kinda pissed, I some how lost the entire month of May's workouts from my log. So maybe this will make me write stuff down in more than one place.
Pre run was a banana and 1/4 cup beef jerky. Breakfast after was whole wheat wrap, peanut butter-2 tbl, banana with strawberries and blue berries on the side.

What was going on as a good day, turned to crap as our middle daughter/pain in the ass has herself in a great big financial hole. As a dad I feel like such a failure, because I cant help her out, we are in a pretty big hole ourselves. It is not that she does not try, she will/can not think out a problem, just dives in and hopes for the best. Sorry, venting.

Any whoooo,
I got in a double today. Rt was another hero WOD

"Moon"

Seven rounds for time of:
40 pound dumbbell Hang split snatch, 10 reps Right arm
15 ft Rope Climb, 1 ascent
40 pound dumbbell Hang split snatch, 10 reps Left arm
15 ft Rope Climb, 1 ascent

Alternate feet in the split snatch sets.

I did the split snatches, the rope climbs from back to standing two reps for each rope climb. 5 rounds + 20 split snatches time 19:09 The ones with the left arm were becoming dangerous, having a hard time controling them overhead.

First day of the summer challenge.

Today was a good day. This morning my shoulders were still killing me from the other days Murph. I bet it might of been the 200 push ups. Luckily, I have been doing much better about warming up. Fast walk on the treadmill, 2 rounds of box jumps and KB swings 1 pood. Then a good 10 minutes of band stretching on the shoulders.

I got in my 2 burpees, first burpees in almost a year. Not diving into the WOD yesterday, 150 pull ups 150 burpees, was a good idea. Doing it would of took me out for quite a while. Must be getting a little smarter, yeah right.

Then on to the WOD 1-1-1-1-1-1-1 power cleans.
I did some work with the pvc pipe, trying to get my squats to work, not happening. Then on to the empty bar, it is hard for me to work with it. I need to spend way more time with it though.
I started @ 95 worked up to 135 before counting them as lifts for the day. 135-145-155-165 fail-165 fail -145-150-155-160 fail. The pulls were good, felt really good. At 165, I could not get my elbows around fast enough. I wish I would get under the bar, I know this holds me back on a lot of bigger lifts. Need to remember it will take lots of time. I have only really been lifting for 6-7 months over the last year and a half.
I know I am giving it plenty, because around a hour or so after my body it is just shot for a while. Not the muscles but the nervous system, just feel whooped on.

Eats were good. Spinach from our garden, peppers and eggs with chicken sausage for breakfast. Left over sausage and beans for lunch. Green beans and tuna for dinner.
A really good way to start off the challenge.
